Full London casting announced for Lazarus

First Published 15 September 2016, Last Updated 15 September 2016

The European premiere production of Lazarus, the musical penned by Enda Walsh and the late David Bowie, has today announced additional casting for its transfer from New York.

Previously announced cast members Michael C Hall, Michael Esper and Sophia Anne Caruso are all reprising their roles – Newton, Valentine and Girl respectively – from the sell-out New York Theatre Workshop production, while Olivier Award-winner Ivo van Hove will direct.

Joining them are Olivier Award nominee Amy Lennox (Kinky Boots) as Elly, Gabrielle Brooks (The Book Of Mormon), Sydnie Christmas (Kick Ass 2) and Maimuna Memon (The Busker’s Opera) as Teenage Girls, Richard Hansell (A View From The Bridge) as Zach, Jamie Muscato (Bend It Like Beckham) as Ben, Tom Parsons (Once) as Michael and Julie Yammanee (Priscilla Queen Of The Desert) as Maemi.

Featuring songs from Bowie’s iconic catalogue along with new music written for the stage, Lazarus is inspired by Walter Tevis’ novel The Man Who Fell To Earth, and follows a man, Thomas Newton, who perpetually remains on Earth, unable to die, yet seeks freedom from this fate – a freedom which the arrival of another lost soul might finally grant him.

Taking place in a brand new 900-seater venue at King’s Cross Theatre, London, the arrival of the show in the capital follows its smash-hit reception to its limited run at last year. Performances begin on Tuesday 25 October, with the show currently booking until 22 January 2017.

Tickets can be purchased through the show’s website.
