A full cast of Christmas spirit spreaders has been announced for the West End premiere of new musical Elf, which is set to open at London’s Dominion Theatre this winter.
Based on the festive film starring Will Ferrell, Elf will bring Christmas cheer for all London audiences to hear from 24 October to 2 January.
The newly announced cast members include Katie Bradley, Charlie Bull, Nicola Coates, Alex Fobbester, Anton Fosh, Charlotte Gale, Francis Haugen, Matt Holland, Tash Holway, Paul Hutton, Mark Iles, Ceili O’Connor, Debbie Paul, Joanna Rennie, Barnaby Thompson and Ed White.
They are joined by a quartet of young performers – Harry Collett, Ilan Galkoff, Noah Key and Ewan Rutherford – who will alternate the role of Buddy’s half-brother Michael.
The much anticipated West End premiere will star Ben Forster as the loveable lead character alongside Kimberley Walsh, Joe McGann, Jessica Martin, Jennie Dale, Mark McKerracher and Graham Lappin.
The stage adaptation follows the unconventionally sized, maple syrup spaghetti-loving ‘elf’ who embarks on a journey to New York City when his enormous size and hapless toy-making abilities lead him to learn that he isn’t an elf at all. As he arrives in the Big Apple on a quest to find his father, he happens on a mission to help Santa restore everyone’s faith in Christmas.
Featuring a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin with a score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, the musical will open at the Dominion Theatre following the current runs of popular hits Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games and Aliens Love Underpants, which both close on 5 September.
