Booking opens on 14 July for this year’s Kids Week and to celebrate, free children’s tickets are being offered for a special matinee performance of We’re Going On A Bear Hunt at the Duchess theatre on the same day.
Aimed at children under five, We’re Going On A Bear Hunt is the stage adaptation of the imaginative picture book by former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen, which follows a family’s excitement as they go in search of a bear.
Following the performance at 13:30, the audience will be treated to a sneak preview of touring production The Tiger Who Came To Tea and a special appearance by The Gruffalo.
Children’s tickets for the event on 14 July are free, while adults pay the special rate of £10, and places can be booked by visiting www.kidsweek.co.uk
If you can’t make the performance on 14 July do not despair, as We’re Going On A Bear Hunt is also taking part in Kids Week itself. Now in its 12th year, Kids Week is held from 14-28 August, during which time one child aged 5-16 can go free to any participating show when an accompanying adult ticket is purchased.
Among the many hit shows taking part this year are: recent Tony Award-winner Billy Elliot The Musical, Disney’s The Lion King, Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, Hairspray, Carrie’s War, The 39 Steps and War Horse. In addition, an exciting line up of free workshops and activities will take place during the fortnight, including ballet classes, stage fighting and puppet workshops.
