The Menier Chocolate Factory’s five star hit Forbidden Broadway will keep audiences in fits of laughter for two weeks longer than expected with the news it has extended its run to 30 August.
Forbidden Broadway is the hugely popular musical revue that takes an affectionate poke at some of the West End and Broadway’s most-loved productions, as well as the legendary stars that have played some of musical theatre’s iconic leading roles.
First dreamt up by Gerard Alessandrini in 1982, Forbidden Broadway has gone on to play across the world and was first seen at the Menier Chocolate Factory in 2009.
Declared as “the funniest show in London” by Time Out when it returned to the London Bridge venue earlier this month, a quartet of West End stars –Anna-Jane Casey, Sophie-Louise Dann, Damian Humbley and Ben Lewis – star in the latest incarnation of the satirical show.
This updated version directed by Phillip George features mischievous skits on some of London’s most popular shows of the moment, including The Book Of Mormon, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Once, Matilda The Musical and Miss Saigon.
