Having ‘opened up’ to critical acclaim earlier this year, there’s now a new crew serving Joe’s Diner in Waitress. And it’s a starry one: Ashley Roberts, Blake Harrison and Lucie Jones have all taken on new roles this week in the smash-hit musical.
The show has recently extended its booking period at the Adelphi Theatre up to 7 December, as audiences just can’t get enough of the heart-warming story of love and friendship. Take a first look at the new star trio in action below.
Ashley is playing the role of Dawn, and Lucie leads the show as Jenna. And although Lucie has covered her new role on-stage recently, former Pussycat Doll Ashley is making her West End debut. Throwing his comic prowess into the mix is The Inbetweeners’ star Blake Harrison, who’s also started this week in the role of Ogie.
Waitress uses an original score by 7-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles to tell the tale of Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who wistfully dreams of a happier life. But the arrival of a hot new doctor – and a little fortune – might be about to change her life’s recipe completely.
Waitress is also participating in Kids Week; throughout August, a child aged 16 or under can go free when accompanied by an adult paying full price. Adults can also purchase up to two extra children’s tickets at half price, and there are no booking fees to pay.
