Next Monday is a big day for Wicked, the West End’s magical musical hit.
It’s that time of year when the cast of enchanting performers receives an update. Without the help of an illusionist or a glamorous assistant, a collection of the performers who have been entertaining audiences at the Apollo Victoria will disappear, to be replaced by a host of brand new, eager and excited faces.
While the visages of Elphaba and Glinda will remain the same next week – actresses Emma Hatton and Savannah Stevenson continue in the roles – new to the leading roles for 2015/16 are Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Sean Kearns (Doctor Dillamond) and Daniel Hope (Boq).
Before they head to Oz, to tell the little known story of two sorcery students and the events that lead them to become Glinda The Good and Elphaba, The Wicked Witch of the West, we had a peek at what audiences can expect to see.
Wicked, which is now the 9th longest running show in the West End, is booking until November 2016.
