Looking For JJ, the new stage production of Anne Cassidy’s award-winning novel, comes to the Unicorn theatre for a five-week run this autumn, from 23 October-2 November.
Cassidy’s story centres on teenager Jennifer Jones, who is released from prison after serving six years in a secure unit for killing her best friend. She is given the new identity of Alice Tully, but everyone is looking for JJ. Only Alice knows exactly where she is and what happened that day six years ago. Alice’s past is dangerous, violent and sad – and it’s about to rip her present apart.
Produced by Pilot Theatre in partnership with York Theatre Royal and the Unicorn, this premiere production is adapted and directed by Pilot Artistic Director Marcus Romer. Pilot’s previous productions include Roy Williams’s Sing Yer Heart Out For The Lads, Roald Dahl’s The Twits and a stage adaptation of Lord Of The Flies.
Looking For JJ is suitable for young people aged 11 and over.
