Rufus Norris’ epic production of Feast, which is currently playing at the Young Vic theatre, has served up an additional helping of performances, extending its run by a week.
Written by five playwrights from around the world, Feast explores Yoruba culture through the tale of three sisters who are separated at a crossroads by a trickster while on their way to a feast, only to be reunited following a mystical journey from 18th century Nigeria to Brazil, Cuba, the US and the UK in 2013.
Featuring choreography by George Cespedes and live music by Michael Henry and Jamiroquai percussionist Sola Akingbola, the cast of the Royal Court co-production includes Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Noma Dumezweni, Naana Agyei-Ampadu, Michelle Asante, Daniel Cerqueira and Louis Mahoney.
Described by The Telegraph’s Dominic Cavendish as “a consistently fascinating, hugely energising experience”, Feast will now play until 2 March prior to the return of Fevered Sleep with Above Me The Wide Blue Sky, which plays from 12 to 28 March.
