West End theatregoers will find that Everybody’s Talking About Jamie for even longer this year, with the news that the feelgood and fabulous new musical has opened up a new booking period until Saturday 6 October.
Having lit up the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue when it opened in November 2017, the news that the show is extending until later this year will be greeted with joy by all who have witnessed its sensational story and catchy new songs.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie tells the story of 16 year-old Jamie New, a teenager on the cusp of becoming a sensation – if he can only realise his dreams. But supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies, and steps out into the spotlight, in an infectiously uplifting show.
The musical opened to critical acclaim at the Sheffield Crucible in 2017, before transferring to the West End. As well as receiving rave reviews, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie won the UK Theatre Awards for Best Musical Production and Best Performance in A Musical for John McCrea (Jamie).

The show is directed by Jonathan Butterell, with catchy new songs from Dan Gillespie Sells, lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, and writer Tom MacRae.
