Last week, you saw it on the small screen thanks to the Olivier Awards with Mastercard. Now you can see it on the big screen at cinemas across the UK… well, soon anyway. Everybody’s Talking About Jamie will be streaming a live performance on Thursday 5 July which will be available to view across the UK, Ireland and selected European territories. A majority of the screenings will take place on the same day, with a small number of screenings taking place on 15 and 16 July. The recording from the Apollo Theatre will then be available at screenings worldwide in the autumn.
The screening by Movie2Screen will give thousands of people the opportunity to see the award-winning musical that’s been sweeping the West End.
Inspired by true events, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie tells the story of Jamie New – a teenager with a big secret and even bigger dreams.
Jamie New lives on a council estate in Sheffield and doesn’t quite fit in. With the support of his loving mum and his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.
After a sensational run at the Sheffield Crucible in 2017, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie transferred to the West End. The heartwarming and daring tale of love, acceptance and success was nominated for five Olivier Awards and has been wowing critics and audiences alike.
So if you can’t get down to the West End to see John McCrea, Josie Walker, Tamsin Carroll, Lucie Shorthouse and Phil Nichol live on stage, be sure to catch them in the feel-good, fabulous show at a cinema near you. To find out more about the screenings and how to get tickets, click here.
