A host of West End stars will be behind some of the many voices participating in this year’s The Night Of 1000 Voices at the Royal Albert Hall, which will take place in May.
Kerry Ellis, Bonnie Langford, Peter Polycarpou, Ricardo Afonso, Daniel Boys, Clive Rowe, Caroline Sheen and Sally Ann Triplett will all take part in the musical event, which is to be hosted by Britain’s much-loved panto veteran Christopher Biggins.
Joining them in the night’s celebration of musical theatre will be Germany’s leading man Yngve Gasoy Romdal, We Will Rock You star David Michael Johnson, the City Of London Philharmonic and a number of special guests still to be announced.
In what is set to be an exciting year for Britain, with the arrival of the Olympics and the Queen’s diamond jubilee, the event will pay tribute to the best of British musical theatre with songs from Evita, The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar and Les Misérables.
The Night Of 1000 Voices previously raised nearly half a million pounds for UK-based charities, and the proceeds of this year’s concert will go to the blood cancer charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, which relies entirely on fundraising in order to finance its life-saving work.
Led by distinguished West End conductors Stuart Morley and David Firman, The Night Of 1000 Voices takes place on 6 May. For more information and to book tickets visit www.thenightof1000voices.com.
