The brilliant actresses need no introduction to fans of London theatre: multiple award winner Paige first rose to prominence when she won the Olivier Award for Best Performance in a Musical in 1978, with 2018 marking 40 years since the renowned production first played. She has since starred in countless West End and Broadway musicals, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Cats, The King & I, Sweeney Todd and Follies. Her BBC Radio 2 programme, Elaine Paige on Sunday, is broadcast weekly to over 2.5 million listeners.
Meanwhile, Burke, who first rose to fame as one of the most successful X Factor winners in history, made a brilliant West End debut in 2014, playing the lead role of Rachel Marron in the much acclaimed musical, The Bodyguard. She has also starred as Deloris Van Cartier in Craig Revel Horwood’s production of the musical Sister Act, and recently reached the final of BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.
Aside from the main matter of nominations, the pair will also have plenty to discuss about upcoming shows. Paige starred in the original stage production of musical masterpiece Chess in 1986, while Burke was recently cast in the upcoming revival of the show.
