Tickets are now available for London theatre’s evening of educational excitement, EducationLive, which will offer a wealth of insight to 200 secondary school teachers.
The annual event, staged at the Lyceum theatre on 12 November, brings education professionals together with more than 20 of London’s foremost theatre organisations and productions, to enlighten and inform about the opportunities and resources available.
In addition to exhibitions, stalls and networking opportunities, EducationLive offers a choice of workshops in voice, devising, text in performance and design, to help develop and explore skills that can be taken back to the classroom. There are also deals to be had, enabling teachers to test out a show before bringing their students.
EducationLive is organised by the Ambassador Theatre Group, Creative & Cultural Skills, Mousetrap Theatre Projects and the Society of London Theatre (SOLT).
Speaking about the event, Julian Bird, Chief Executive of SOLT, said “I am delighted that EducationLive has welcomed two new partners on board for 2012; the Ambassador Theatre Group and Creative & Cultural Skills. For many young people their first experience of visiting the theatre is through a school visit and as an industry we are passionate about enriching this magical experience. EducationLive really engages with teachers and champions the fantastic work programmed by London theatres and their creative learning departments.”
