Dusty musical to Stay Awhile in London

First Published 20 July 2015, Last Updated 20 July 2015

Dusty, the multi-media celebration of musical icon Dusty Springfield, has extended its run at the Charing Cross Theatre to 21 November.

The new show, which uses 3D technology and digital media along with live performance, music and dance to tell the story of the Son Of A Preacher Man singer, had been booking until 22 August.

In a rare turn of events, the show’s press night, which had been postponed due to issues bringing the technical elements of the show to the stage, will now be held on 7 September, a date only available now that the show has extended.

Music icon Springfield rose to fame in the 1960s with songs including You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me, I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself, Wishin’ And Hopin’ and Take Another Little Piece Of My Heart.

The production, which follows Springfield’s rise from middle-class suburbanite to the recording of seminal album Dusty, stars Ellie Ann-Lowe in the title role and Francesca Jackson as childhood friend Nancy Jones, through whose eyes the story is played out.
