She’s already torn up the West End stage with a UK Theatre and Olivier Award-nominated run last year. And now David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny is to return to in London this Summer, playing at the Harold Pinter Theatre for a limited two week run.
Based on the comedian’s bestselling book of the same name, Gangsta Granny is the Birmingham Stage Company’s brilliant theatrical adaptation. The show returns to the West End from 14 – 26 August.
It’s Friday night, and Ben’s off to stay with Granny. Surely cabbage soup, cabbage pie, and cabbage cake lie in store – it’s going to be soooo boring! But what Ben couldn’t have imagined is that his Granny has a very big secret – and Friday nights are about to get more exciting than he could possibly imagine, as he embarks on the adventure of a lifetime with his very own Gangsta Granny!

Walliams said of the announcement, “Gangsta Granny is my most popular book so it’s wonderful to see the brilliant BSC’s terrific adaptation back in the West End again. It’s a fantastic, award-winning show – and so much better than the book!”
Gangsta Granny live has been created by Neal Foster and The Birmingham Stage Company. In addition to this, BSC has been touring Horrible Histories Live On Stage for eleven years across the UK, Ireland, Dubai, Qatar, Australia and more, with Horrible Histories: Barmy Britain – Part Four playing at the Apollo Theatre from 2 August.
Gangsta Granny is adapted and directed by Neal Foster, design is by Jackie Trousdale, lighting by Jason Taylor, sound by Nick Sagar, music by Jak Poore and choreography by Paul Chantry & Rae Piper of Chantry Dance Company.
