Former Once star David Hunter will don the West End’s most famous sparkly red foot-coverings this summer, when he replaces Killian Donnelly in Kinky Boots from 15 August.
Olivier Award winner Matt Henry will continue to star opposite Hunter as Lola.
In a near-total overhaul of the leading roles, Amy Lennox, Amy Ross and Jamie Baughan will all bow out with Donnelly, giving their final performances at the Adelphi Theatre on 13 August.
Replacing the trio will be Elena Skye, who makes her professional West End debut as Lauren, former Mamma Mia! star Cordelia Farnworth, who takes over as Nicola, and Billy Elliot The Musical’s Alan Mehdizadeh, who takes over as Don.
The hit musical, which features songs by US pop star Cyndi Lauper, won three prestigious Olivier Awards earlier this year including the coveted MasterCard Best New Musical Award.
Based on 2005 film, Kinky Boots tells the story of Charlie, who unexpectedly inherits his father’s failing shoe factory. Struggling for a way to save his employees, inspiration comes in thigh-high boots as he meets drag artiste Lola, a man in need of heels both sexy and sturdy. But how will Northampton cope with the outrageous glamour that’s heading its way.
Kinky Boots is booking at the Adelphi until 14 January 2017. You can buy tickets through us here.
