The masters of reduced silliness, Dan and Jeff, return to the West End this Christmas with their new show Potted Panto, which plays at the Vaudeville theatre from 10 December to 9 January.
Potted Panto, which began life at the Edinburgh Festival this summer, crams all the classic pantomimes into one show, offering seven pantomimes for the price of one.
The show sees Dan and Jeff play all the recognisable heroes and villains of stories including Cinderella, Jack And The Beanstalk, Dick Whittington and Snow White, posing them the problem of how two people can play seven dwarves and which of them will make the prettiest princess.
Best known as CBBC presenters, Dan and Jeff began their Potted career in 2006 with Potted Potter, a comedic romp through all the Harry Potter books. They followed this in 2008 with Potted Pirates which, like its predecessor, enjoyed a London run at Trafalgar Studios.
Potted Panto, which will play at the Vaudeville theatre concurrently with An Ideal Husband, joins an ever-increasingly line-up of family shows taking over major West End houses. Also this Christmas, Peppa Pig’s Party opens at the Criterion theatre while The Gruffalo takes to the Garrick theatre stage.
