Curious Incident extends London stay

First Published 15 September 2014, Last Updated 15 September 2014

The National Theatre’s hugely successful The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time has extended its West End run at the Gielgud Theatre until 23 May.

More than 100,000 new tickets are now on sale for Simon Stephens’ adaptation of Mark Haddon’s much-loved novel that was first seen in 2012 at the South Bank institution.

Two years on and the show has seven Olivier Award wins, a West End transfer and Broadway premiere under its acclaimed belt, as audiences continue to be transfixed by Marianne Elliott’s innovative staging and Bunny Christie’s arresting design.

Currently starring Graham Butler in the lead role of 15-year-old Christopher, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time tells the story of what happens when the teenager, who has an autistic spectrum condition, discovers his neighbour’s dog speared by a garden fork.

Combining the tale of his extraordinary adventure to discover the culprit behind the crime and his parents’ struggle to support and connect to their son, the stunning show uses a series of inventive theatrical tricks to help the audience see the world through Christopher’s eyes.

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time had previously been booking to February.
