Maths is being brought to life for teenagers in a series of lecture shows on 25, 29 and 30 November 2016 at London’s Gielgud Theatre. The shows will take place on the set of The National Theatre’s Olivier and Tony award-winning production, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time adapted by Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon’s best-selling book.
The interactive and entertaining maths shows, produced by Maths Inspiration, who run maths lecture shows across the country, are entitled The Curious Coincidence Of Maths In The Day-Time and will explore some of the many mathematical ideas that are touched on in the book. The shows will also explain some of the maths that was used to design the set and compose the music of the West End show.
The Curious Coincidence shows will feature four of the UK’s top maths presenters, the BBC’s Dr Hannah Fry, stand-up mathematician Matt Parker, maths-musician Ben Sparks and Maths Inspiration Director, Rob Eastaway. Actors Joseph Ayre and Thomas Dennis, who are currently playing the central role of Christopher Boone at the Gielgud, will also be appearing in the Curious Coincidence maths shows.
The shows will cater for two different age groups, 15 to 17 year olds on the 25 November and 13 to 15 years on the 29 and 30 November. For more information about the shows and to book tickets, visit the official website.
