Oliver Cotton’s Wet Weather Cover, which played at the King’s Head theatre in January, is to transfer to the Arts theatre from 6 April to 5 June.
Cotton’s comedy centres on Brad and Stuart, two actors from very different backgrounds who are trapped together in a small leaking trailer on location in Spain. Unable to work because of torrential rain, tensions between the two mount as secrets are uncovered and resolutions undone.
Reprising their roles as Brad and Stuart, Michael Brandon, who was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for his role in Jerry Springer The Opera, appears alongside Steve Furst, a familiar face from his ongoing appearance in the Orange cinema adverts. They are joined by Pepe Balderrama.
Cotton is better known as an actor who has worked extensively with the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company and in the West End. In addition to Wet Weather Cover he has also written for the Royal Court and Shakespeare’s Globe, as well as several films.
Wet Weather Cover is directed by Kate Fahy in her directorial debut. Also better known as an actor, Fahy has acting credits including The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia? in the West End alongside her husband Jonathan Pryce.
