Niamh Perry will take to the Soho theatre stage alongside a host of musical stars next month in A Song Cycle For Soho, a new musical collaboration celebrating the area’s rich history.
West End performers Michael Cantwell (Assassins at the Donmar Warehouse), James Gillan (Wicked), Claire Moore (London Road) and Perry (Love Never Dies) will star in the musical cycle which will play from 27 February (press night 28 February).
The production will showcase the work of several emerging and established British composers and lyricists including Douglas Hodge, Christopher Hamilton, Stuart Matthew Price, Dougal Irvine, Susannah Pearse, Tim Sutton and Mary Poppins’ Stiles & Drewe.
A Song Cycle For Soho is directed by Simon Greiff, Associate Director of Mercury Musical Developments. The organisation, which is also producing the production, is dedicated to developing the craft of composers, lyricists and book-writers working in musical theatre.
Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, Mercury Musical Developments has over 250 members including Tim Rice, Dave Stewart and Matilda The Musical’s Tim Minchin.
A Song Cycle For Soho runs until 3 March as part of Artistic Director Steve Marmion’s spring season which he described as “… another non-stop season loaded with the best in new writing, comedy and cabaret.”
