The Girl Who Fell, a new play about loss, guilt and Snapchat, has just announced its cast.
Claire Goose, who you recognise from hit BBC shows such as Casualty, EastEnders and Death In Paradise, will play the role of Thea, a bereaved mother who sets off to find out why her daughter is dead. No stranger to theatre, Claire has previously appeared in several stage productions, including Twitstorm (Park Theatre) and The Perfect Murder (Theatre Royal Bath).
Navin Chowdhry is also joining the cast as Gil, a lost soul whose life collides with Thea’s mission. Navin has also appeared in several award-winning shows including Doctor Foster (BBC), Teachers (Channel 4) and The Replacement (BBC). Navin’s stage credits include Multitudes (Tricycle Theatre), Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre) and Shades and Behind The Image, (both at the Royal Court).
Joining Claire and Navin will be Rosie Day as Billie. Dubbed a ‘Screen International Star of Tomorrow’ by Screen Daily, Rosie has starred in Golden Globe-nominated Outlander as Mary Hawkins. Rosie’s other notable screen credits include The Seasoning House (for which she won four Best Actress awards), Good Night (BAFTA Nominated), Misfits and Siblings. Rosie also lends her voice to the recent adaptation of Watership Down.
And Will Fletcher completes the cast as Lenny. A recent graduate from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, this will be his professional stage debut.
The Girl Who Fell is all about bereaved mother Thea, as she sets off on a mission to find out why her daughter Sam is dead. She is joined in her journey by bickering teen twins Lenny and Billie, plus Gil — a lost-soul whose life collides with theirs in a way that can only ever get messy.
The show is written by Sarah Rutherford, the former Writer in Residence at Park Theatre and writer of the sell-out hit Adult Supervision. It will be directed by Fringe First award-winner Hannah Price, whose previous directorial work includes End Of The Pier (Park Theatre), Again (Trafalgar Studios) and Rainbow Class (Bush Theatre).
The Girl Who Fell is running for a strictly limited time at Trafalgar Studios 2 from 15 October – 23 November. Tickets available now.
