The Pleasance theatre is encouraging children to help create a play with its new interactive show Jack’s Quest, which runs from 28 February to 1 March.
Jack’s Quest, by Emma Bettridge, uses the concept of free play to introduce young people to theatre. Children aged six and over are invited to help Jack, who has run away to the attic, build a den from which they will then watch the show, as they add ideas, comments and answers to help Jack complete his quest – to find the trapdoor and escape from the attic.
The show stars Toby Manley (The Chase, The Mole) and Lachlan Chapman (Mad Funny Just). They are directed by Abigail Graham, an established director on the Old Vic New Voices programme.
Founded in 1995, Islington fringe theatre the Pleasance has presented and produced many memorable productions for children. From 1999 to 2004 it was the permanent home of the Unicorn children's theatre, before it moved into its new London bridge home.
