Chickenshed lines up entertaining autumn

First Published 26 August 2010, Last Updated 26 August 2010

Inclusive theatre company Chickenshed continues to encourage youngsters to get performing this autumn with a series of Saturday morning workshops, its regular Tales From The Shed and a brand new festive show.

The hour-long Saturday morning workshops, available to two different age groups (6-8 and 9-11), allow young people to explore all aspects of performance through different themes each week. This autumn’s sessions focus on everything from musicals and street dance to the stories of Roald Dahl and the dance moves of Michael Jackson.

Also playing at Chickenshed this autumn is the company’s acclaimed production for children, Tales From The Shed. An interactive storytelling session for children under seven, Tales From The Shed encourages creativity while working to improve literacy, numeracy and communication skills.

Tales From The Shed and the Saturday morning workshops run from 10 September to 30 October, before Chickenshed gears up for its seasonal show, Badjelly’s Bad Christmas, which plays from 1 December to 15 January.

A celebration of some of Spike Milligan’s best-loved characters, Badjelly’s Bad Christmas tells the story of a pair of squabbling sisters who battle against Badjelly the witch’s attempts to take the fun out of Christmas by turning nonsense into sense.

To book any of the autumn’s shows and workshops visit the Chickenshed website.
