Anna Madeley, Amanda Drew and Lucy Cohu will join Jonathan Pryce and Dame Eileen Atkins in Florian Zeller’s compelling new family drama The Height Of The Storm.
Madeley is perhaps best known for recently starring opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Sky’s show Patrick Melrose, while Drew recently performed in Zeller’s The Father in the West End, amongst her other extensive stage credits. Cohu, meanwhile, has won a BAFTA and Emmy for her portrayal of Princess Margaret in The Queen’s Sister.
The Height Of The Storm will play a UK tour this autumn prior to beginning previews at Wyndham’s Theatre on Tuesday 2 October. The new play centres on a couple – André (played by Pryce) and Madeleine (Atkins) – who have been in love for over five decades.
But the visit of their daughters triggers a series of sudden doubts: a bunch of flowers arrives, but who sent them? A woman from the past turns up, but who is she? And why does André feel like he isn’t there at all?
Starring two of the greatest actors of their generation on stage together for the first time – the multi-Olivier Award-winning duo of Pryce and Atkins – this major new play from Zeller, translated by long-time collaborator Christopher Hampton, is a searing exploration of love, family and the fragility of life.
