Brand new rock musical Knights Of The Rose is galloping into London this summer, but who will play those shining-armour wearers? It was revealed today as the full cast of the highly-anticipated show was announced adding even more excitement to the upcoming show.
Leading the noble knights is Adam Pearce (Les Misérables and Urinetown) who is joined by Chris Cowley (Wicked), Oliver Saville (Wicked), Rebecca Bainbridge (Mamma Mia!), Rebekah Lowings (Dick Whittington), Matt Thorpe (American Idiot), Ruben Van Keer (Bat Out Of Hell), Katie Birtill (The Last Five Years) and Bleu Woodward (Kinky Boots).
Telling a tale of love, betrayal and sacrifice, Knights Of The Rose follows the noblemen of House Rose. When their House and their honour are challenged, they must rise to defend the realm. But as the chivalrous heroes vanquish their opponents, a greater threat against the kingdom stirs – and with it brings the greatest battle of their era. Will true love and honour triumph, or will betrayal tear them apart?
Knights Of The Rose features epic and timeless rock songs including numbers by Bon Jovi, Bonnie Tyler, No Doubt, Meatloaf, The Calling, and The Hollies to name but a few. There will also be interludes of Mozart’s Marriage Of Fiagaro: Part IV and Purcell’s King Arthur: Third Act. Plus, literature by Marlowe, Shakespeare, and Chaucer.
Knights Of The Rose is directed by Racky Plews and created by Jennifer Marsden.
It will be making its world debut when it runs at the Arts Theatre from 29 June to 26 August 2018, with press night on 5 July.
