Darren Day, Michael Xavier and Jessica Martin will lead the one-off charity gala concert of Robert J. Sherman’s new musical Bumblescratch.
Bumblescratch will play at the Adelphi Theatre for one night only on 4 September 2016, in aid of children’s charity Variety, and is part of commemorations for the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London. Set in London during the Great Plague of 1665 and the Great Fire of 1666, a frenzied plague rat named Melbourne Bumblescratch reveals his unique and twisted love affair with the city through his gruesome tales.
Darren Day plays Melbourne Bumblescratch, Michael Xavier plays Hookbeard and Jessica Martin plays Bethesda and Widow MacGregor. Further casting is to be announced.
Tickets for the gala can be bought from the official website.
