First Published 17 April 2008, Last Updated 18 April 2008

Anna-Jane Casey leads a line-up of young West End stars in this year’s Christmas In New York at the Lyric on 9 December. The evening, held for the first time last year, is a celebration of contemporary seasonal show tunes from the team behind the Notes From New York series.

Casey’s London stage credits include Sunday In The Park With George at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Chicago at the Adelphi and Not(es) From New York at the Duchess. She is joined in this festive celebration by Notes From New York regulars Julie Atherton, currently in Avenue Q, Paul Spicer, Wicked’s Oliver Tompsett, Emma Williams, who is about to take to the Novello stage in Desperately Seeking Susan, former Chicago star Debbie Kurup and Melanie La Barrie, currently playing Madame Thénardier in Les Misérables. The rest of the line-up comprises Matt Cross, Ashleigh Gray, Alex Jessop, Steven Webb and Rachael Wooding, plus a choir of 24. David Randall directs.

Christmas In New York features songs by composers John Bucchino, Craig Carnelia, David Friedman, Andrew Lippa, Charles Miller, Grant Olding and Maury Yeston, along with classic carols and a new musical version of the poem ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas.

The series Notes From New York aims to showcase the best of US musical theatre to West End audiences. Previous shows have been held at Trafalgar Studios, the Duchess and the Apollo.
