Calvin Demba will return to the Royal Court next month to star alongside Anna Chancellor in Rory Mullarkey’s The Wolf From The Door.
The production, which is directed by James Macdonald, will play in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs from 10 September (press night 15 September) to 1 November.
Demba, who was last seen at the Sloane Square venue in 2013’s Routes, will play Leo, a young protégée who joins Chancellor’s Lady Catherine on a wild road trip across Middle England to enlist every tearoom, hot yoga class and WI group on a mission to change the country forever.
The Hollyoaks and Babylon star is joined in the production by Pearce Quigley and Sophie Russell. Quigley, whose recent theatre credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Taming Of The Shrew at Shakespeare Globe, returns to the Royal Court following performances in productions including Birth Of A Nation and The Seagull. Russell’s credits at the venue include The Get Out and The Big Idea: Collaboration.
The Wolf From The Door opens the Royal Court’s forthcoming 2013/14 season and runs alongside Teh Internet Is Serious Business, Tim Price’s fictional take on the true story of Anonymous and LulzSec, which plays in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs from 17 September to 25 October.
