Dark, difficult and devastating. And to quote Barnaby Kay, who stars as Tilden, ‘you’ve got Ed bloody Harris in it’. That’s about as neat a summary of Buried Child as there is. It’s also very, very funny.

The show sees 5 time Oscar Nominee and Golden Globe winner Ed Harris, Academy Award nominee Amy Madigan, Game Of Thrones actress Charlotte Hope and War Horse star Jeremy Irvine making their West End debuts, with Barnaby Kay, Gary Shelford and Jack Fortune completing the line-up in Sam Shepard’s Putlizer Prize-winning play, fresh from critical acclaim on Broadway.
Ed and Amy play couple Dodge and Halie, two 1979 rural American farmers who are desperate to hang on to their farmland – and sanity – while looking after two wayward grown sons. But the arrival of their grandson Vince (Jeremy Irvine) sets into motion a chain of confusion and chaotic events, while the rest of the family dances around a dark secret.
