Mind-control magician Derren Brown is to return to the London stage this summer with new show Derren Brown: Enigma.
The master of psychological illusion is to play 30 dates at the Adelphi theatre from 15 June to 18 July, following Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the venue.
Brown last wowed London audiences in the summer of 2008 with his show An Evening Of Wonders, and previously won a Laurence Olivier Award for his 2006 show Something Wicked This Way Comes. His distinct brand of mind manipulating magic has won him fans and honours for his TV series and specials, which have included Mind Control, Trick Of The Mind, Trick Or Treat, and the controversial Séance, The Heist and Russian Roulette.
Though the new show is currently being written, in conjunction with his director, the actor and magician Andy Nyman, Brown had this to say about his latest stage project: “Like previous shows, I will absolutely push myself to the limit. The challenge is to create new material that shocks, delights and defies explanation. The audience will be taken for a theatrical rollercoaster ride, and I hope it’s an experience that they will never forget.”
Tickets for Enigma go on sale from Thursday 12 March.
Though there has been no official confirmation that Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is closing, the Andrew Lloyd Webber show starring Gareth Gates as the biblical explainer-of-dreams and style icon recently reduced its booking period. It is now booking until 30 May.
