Daniel Boys and Emma Rigby will appear in psycho-sexual musical Wolfboy this summer at the Trafalgar Studios.
Avenue Q star Boys and Hollyoaks actress Rigby join the previously announced Paul Holowaty – also a fellow Hollyoaks regular – and Gregg Lowe.
Wolfboy tells the story of two teenagers who share an intimate adventure in an institution for boys. Bernie is a Grade A golden boy who has attempted suicide. David is a street hustler who may or may not have the powers of a wolf.
Director Russell Labey has adapted the thriller, along with lyricist and composer Leon Parris, from Brad Fraser’s play Love And Human Remains. After premiering at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival, Wolfboy makes its London debut at the Trafalgar Studio 2 from 6 to 31 July (press night 7 July).
Boys is best known for his two year award-winning run in Avenue Q, playing Princeton in the puppet musical. Boys first came to the general public’s attention when he appeared in the 2007 BBC reality talent show Any Dream Will Do, and was seventh to be voted off, ultimately losing out on the role of Joseph to Lee Mead. His other stage credits include Sweeney Todd at the Royal Festival Hall, West Side Story and Sunset Boulevard.
Rigby makes her West End debut in the production. She is best known for her long-running role as Hanna in Hollyoaks, for which she won a British Soap Award for Best Actress. Before her four year stint in the Chester based soap, she appeared in Brookside and Born And Bred.
Wolfboy plays as part of a musical summer at the Trafalgar Studios, with cabaret Confessions Of A Dancewhore running from 21 June to 3 July and State Fair, which includes songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein, playing from 3 to 28 August.
