Boris Johnson will leave City Hall behind and take to the stage of London’s Trafalgar Studios in April, as part of comedy play Boris: World King. Sort of.
The real Mayor of London, obviously, isn’t starring in a show about himself for a month between 19 April and 14 May. But he is the subject of one.
Tom Crawshaw’s satire Boris: World King brings the nation’s favourite bumbling politician to the stage as he teeters on the brink of power and battles for his very political existence.
The production, which stars David Benson and Alice McCarthy, was first seen at the Edinburgh Festival where it was described by the Evening Standard as a “very funny satire… with a bite in its tail”.
Boris: World King opens at the Trafalgar Studio 2 following the current transfer of acclaimed Hampstead Theatre hit Firebird and another 2015 Edinburgh Festival hit, Jim Cartwright’s RAZ.
