Musical theatre icons Bonnie Langford and Gary Wilmot are to join Robert Lindsay, Rufus Hound and Katherine Kingsley in hit musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

From 16 September, the experienced pair will replace current stars Samantha Bond and John Marquez in the Jerry Mitchell-directed musical about rival conmen facing off on the French Riviera.

Langford, who will play glamorous divorcee Muriel Eubanks, started on stage at the age of seven when she appeared in Gone With The Wind. She has since gone on to amass credits in shows including Cats, Chicago, Spamalot and Me And My Girl.

Wilmot, who can currently be seen in The Pajama Game, also appeared in Me And My Girl when he replaced soon-to-be co-star Lindsay in the role of Bill Snibson. His more recent theatre credits include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Copacabana.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is the inaugural show produced by Jerry Mitchell Productions and opened at the Savoy Theatre in April. Its story follows suave sophisticated conman Lawrence Jameson, whose world is shaken when a bold, brash rival crashes into his cushy life. Determined to settle their differences with a test of skill, they settle on a target, the soap heiress Christine Colgate. But neither knows what they’ve let themselves in for.
