Earlier today, we wished for an almighty Zoltar machine to give us full casting news for Big The Musical. And if you have any idea what I’m referring to, you’ll also be excited to learn our wish was granted, as the full line-up – including Jay McGuiness, Wendi Peters, Kimberley Walsh and Matthew Kelly – was announced.
Jay will reprise his touring role in the star role of Josh Baskin. Wendi (Coronation Street) will play Mrs Baskin, Kimberley (formerly of Girls Aloud) will play love interest Susan Lawrence, and Matthew Kelly (Stars In Their Eyes) will play warm-hearted George MacMillan. They’ll be joined by Lori Haley Fox (Dirty Dancing On Tour) as Mrs Kopecki/Miss Watson and Edward Handoll (Motown The Musical) as Paul Seymour.
Harrison Dadswell, Jamie O’Connor and Jake Simon will alternate the role of Young Josh, with Jobe Hart, Austen Phelan and Theo Wilkinson sharing the role of Billy. There will be two teams of children in Big The Musical, comprising Olufemi Alaka, Coco Cousin-Brown, Asher Ezeguiel, Ellis Griffiths, Imogen Law Hing Choy, Noah Leggott, Amaya Lucas, Cassia McCarthy, Ophelia Parsons, Bailey Razdan, Lucinda Wicks and Chanel Zinyemba.
Completing the Big The Musical cast are Charlie Bull, Colin Burnicle, Christie-Lee Crosson, Vicki Davids, Alex Fobbester, Leanne Garretty, Stuart Hickey, Matt Holland, Tash Holway, Ross McLaren, Richard Murphy, Eddie Myles, Katharine Pearson, Anton Fosh, Gemma Fuller, Gary Murphy and Katy Osborne.
Big The Musical is coming to the Dominion Theatre from 6 September, adapting the heart-warming film for the stage.
When 12 year-old Josh Baskin (Jay) wishes to be big at a mysterious Zoltar machine, he gets exactly that! Trapped inside an adult’s body and forced to work in a grown-up world, his childlike innocence may just change everyone else around him.
