Writer, director and actor Steven Berkoff is to stage the world premier of his new comedy 6 Actors In Search Of A Director in London this spring.
Set as a movie is being filmed, the play, which Berkoff will also direct, runs at the Charing Cross theatre from 16 May with a cast including Neil Stuke.
Based on Berkoff’s own experiences of working in the movie business – he most famously played villains in Beverly Hills Cop and Rambo – his new play finds a sextet of performers waiting for their call, hanging in a state of limbo for a director to bring them to life with an ‘Action!’
Stuke, seen on screen in drama series Silk, returns to the London stage after last being seen in the National Theatre production of Season’s Greetings. He is joined at the Charing Cross theatre by Philip Voss, Andree Bernard, Sarah Chamberlain, Ruth Everett and Paul Trussell.
