The forthcoming musical theatre adaptation of Bend It Like Beckham has added extra time to its West End run after extending its booking period to 24 October.
An additional 200,000 tickets are now available for the London show, which was previously booking at the Phoenix Theatre until 11 July.
Based on the British comedy film starring Keira Knightley and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Bend It Like Beckham tells the striking tale of a young girl who is faced with the most important decision of her life. Should she fulfil her family’s expectations and head towards university, a career and marriage or follow in the footsteps of her footballing hero David Beckham?
Directed by Gurinder Chadha, who worked on the original film, the cast of the musical includes Natalie Dew, Lauren Samuels, Jamie Campbell Bower, Ronni Ancona, Jamal Andréas, Preeya Kalidas, Tony Jayawardena and Natasha Jayetileke.
Featuring music and lyrics by Howard Goodall and Charles Hart, the production begins previews at the Phoenix Theatre on 15 May before officially opening on 24 June.
