Young adventurers will have even longer to seek out the fearsome furry creature at the heart of Michael Rosen’s popular tale this summer as We’re Going On A Bear Hunt has extended its run to 8 September.
Playing from 3 July at the Lyric theatre, We’re Going On A Bear Hunt combines music, laughter, songs, rhymes and rhythms to tell the story of a family of adventurers and their musical dog as they journey through the swishy swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and the squelchy mud in search of a bear.
Based on the popular picture book by Rosen and Helen Oxenbury, the family show, which features a score by Benji Bower, is a mischievous celebration of play that utilises everyday objects and materials to capture young imaginations.
Directed by Sally Cookson, the production’s cast includes Duncan Foster, Rowena Lennon, Gareth Warren, Ben Harrison and Gavin Swift.
We’re Going On A Bear Hunt is taking part in this year’s Kids Week, our annual initiative that offers a free child’s ticket with every full priced ticket purchased, plus up to an additional two children’s tickets at half price. Visit www.kidsweek.co.uk for more information and to book tickets.
