The Olivier Awards with Mastercard, the UK’s most prestigious stage honours, have unveiled 6 inaugural “Be Inspired Champions”. Nominated by members of the public and theatre industry, these six individuals have motivated and inspired others with their love and commitment to theatre.
In the second of our Be Inspired Champions video series, we present the story of Mark Thorburn, nominated by his wife Sandy Thorburn.
Mark has dedicated his career to championing theatre, be it as a primary school teacher spreading his enthusiasm for the stage through organising school trips, or as Artistic Director of Coventry Youth Operetta Group for 15 years. He also coordinated the centenary celebrations of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association.
