Programme sellers, ice cream vendors and ticket tearers will take centre stage at the Arts Theatre this month when Ushers: The Front Of House Musical makes its London return.
Previously a hit at the Charing Cross Theatre, the self-proclaimed ridiculous and hilarious musical tale will play from 9 September (press night 14 September) to 18 October.
Set in a West End theatre housing jukebox musical Oops! I Did It Again, The Britney Spears Musical, the production follows three members of the venue’s front of house team. One is an untrained newbie working her first shift, another’s three-year work placement is on the rocks and then there’s the amorous manager who is under pressure to cut costs.
Directed by Max Reynolds, the musical’s cast comprises Ben Fenner, Rory Maguire, Alexandra Parkes, Corrine Priest, Cameron Sharp and Harry Stone.
Promising “big, bold company numbers, Fosse-like ice cream tray choreography and a script with heart, soul and an ice bucket full of laughs”, Ushers: The Front Of House Musical will play alongside fellow musical hit American Idiot, which will continue its run at the Arts Theatre until 22 November.
