Amelia Lowdell and Paul Hickey will star in Nick Payne’s new play Incognito when it comes to the Bush Theatre in May as part of a national tour.
Playing from 14 May to 21 June, Incognito interweaves three stories that take place across half a century, exploring the nature of identity and how we are defined by what we remember.
The trio of tales takes audiences from 1955 New Jersey, where the recently deceased Albert Einstein is undergoing an autopsy, to modern day London, where a clinical neurologist’s marriage is in tatters and she starts to make some radically different choices.
Last seen on the London stage in 2009’s Seize The Day at the Tricycle Theatre, Lowdell has also appeared in the capital in productions including Oxford Street and Breath Boom at the Royal Court, and The Frontline at Shakespeare’s Globe. On screen, the actress has appeared in series including Beginner’s Luck and Essex Boys.
Hickey, who was last seen on the London stage in Howard Davies’ production of Children Of The Sun at the National Theatre, has notched up a string of NT appearances, which also include Our Class and Peer Gynt.Elsewhere, he boasts stage credits including Fewer Emergencies at the Royal Court and In A World Of Our Own at the Donmar Warehouse. His screen appearances include Whitechapel and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries.
The duo are joined in the cast of Joe Murphy’s production by Remy Beasley (The Taming Of The Shrew, Shakespeare’s Globe) and Sargon Yelda (Emperor And Galilean, National Theatre).
