Screen and stage favourite Amanda Holden has joined the star-studded cast of Cinderella at the London Palladium, playing The Fairy Godmother.
Starring in the iconic West End venue’s first pantomime in nearly three decades, Holden will perform alongside the likes of Paul O’Grady as the Wicked Stepmother, Julian Clary as Dandini, Lee Mead as Prince Charming, Paul Zerdin as Buttons, Nigel Havers as Lord Chamberlain and Count Arthur Strong as Baron Hardup. Further stellar names are expected to be announced later in the year.
Perhaps best known for her role as a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, Holden’s former credits demonstrate her own natural talent for the stage, having received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in the West End production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. She also originated the role of Princess Fiona in the West End premiere of Shrek.
Of the announcement, Holden said: “I cannot wait to spread my Fairy Godmother dust over the festive season in this huge production at one of the most iconic theatres in the world. It’s an absolute honour to have been asked. I’m very excited but nothing like my two girls who can’t wait to watch their Mama fly!”
Qdos Entertainment’s London Palladium production of Cinderella will run for five weeks only from 9 December, and is sure to offer a glitzy, family fun-filled celebration to mark your Festive season.
