The Almeida Theatre has announced that James Graham’s new journalism drama Ink, directed by Rupert Goold and starring Bertie Carvel and Richard Coyle, will transfer to the West End this autumn.
Following the current critically acclaimed sell-out season at the North London venue, which ends on 5 August, Ink will play at the Duke of York’s Theatre from Saturday 9 September – Saturday 6 January 2018, with opening night on Tuesday 19 September.
Set amidst the bustle of 1969 Fleet Street, Ink follows a young and rebellious Rupert Murdoch in his quest to challenge the impossible and launch The Sun – the publication to give the people what they want, no matter what the cost.
The ruthless, red-topped new play, penned by Graham (This House) and led by the Almeida’s Artistic Director Goold, will star a cast including Carvel (Doctor Foster, Matilda The Musical) and Coyle (The Associate, The Lover).
James Graham said: “It’s been such a creatively rewarding experience, building this show at the Almeida. I’m in absolute awe of our actors and the creative team, led by Rupert.”

The West End production of Ink is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions and the Almeida Theatre.
