Something good, is happening in Oz because Broadway and West End star Alistair Brammer is joining the cast of Wicked this July!
Alistair has been a regular on the West End stage since 2009 when he made his debut as Marius in Les Misérables. Since, he’s made an international name for himself after playing Chris in Miss Saigon both here and on Broadway.
He will be replacing David Witts who will be performing as Fiyero for a final time on 20 July.
Wicked is entering its 14th year in London and is currently the 9th longest-running musical to ever run on a West End stage. Worldwide, it’s won over 100 awards including three Tonys and two Oliviers.
If you’re yet to see it, Wicked tells the story of a young, green witch named Elphaba. When joining a new school, she’s paired up with the blonde and popular Galinder who goes out of her way to humiliate the outcast. But their circumstances somehow bridge the gap between them and they become the best of friends despite their differences and go on a mission together to meet the great and powerful Oz – a meeting that will change their lives forever.
Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel of the same name which is in turn based on the characters from the beloved L Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz, Wicked imagines the backstory of the Wicked Witch Of The West and Glinda The Good and the events leading up to Dorothy’s arrival.
So if you want to see Alistair in this enchanting show which has cast its spell on over 10 million people across the globe, you can from 22 July!
