Acting For Others, the charity that provides financial and emotional support to all theatre workers in times of need, has announced a star-studded list of ambassadors.
Jenny Agutter, Annette Badland, Christopher Biggins, Samantha Bond, Richard Eyre, Ben Forster, Lesley Joseph, Carl Mullaney, David O’Reilly, John Partridge, Wendi Peters, Cleve September, Harriet Thorpe and Hannah Waddingham constitute the exciting list.
The A4O Ambassadors will play an important role in supporting Acting for Others in helping the theatre community through taking part in events, encouraging others in the industry to contribute to the charity’s work and most importantly, raising awareness of the need to raise funds so as to be able to offer support to those in need.
Dame Judi Dench, President of Acting for Others, said today, “Acting for Others is exactly what it means, being concerned about everyone working in the theatre. I am proud to be associated with it and it is brilliant to welcome some of our supporters as Ambassadors. I congratulate everyone who has gone out of their way to contribute to its success.”
Acting For Others provides its invaluable support through 15 member charities: Actor’s Children’s Trust, Dancers’ Career Development, Denville Hall, Drury Lane Theatrical Fund, Equity Charitable Trust, Evelyn Norris Trust, Grand Order of Water Rats, International Performers’ Aid Trust, King George V Fund for Actors and Actresses, Ralph and Meriel Richardson Foundation, Dance Professionals Fund, The Royal Opera House Benevolent Fund, The Royal Theatrical Fund, Theatre Chaplaincy UK and The Theatrical Guild.
