As the weather plummets and Theatreland finds its stagiest scarf to wrap up warm in, we’re definitely accepted that winter isn’t just coming, it’s here.

Luckily we’ve got the highlights from the past West End week to warm you up!

Matthew Broderick make his West End debut

Seems like Ferris Bueller isn’t due another day off for a while, as Matthew Broderick is coming over to London to make his West End debut.

Starring alongside Downton Abbey’s Elizabeth McGovern, Matthew will be appearing in Kenneth Lonergan’s new play, The Starry Messenger.

Set in the 1990s New York, the story revolves around an astronomer at the city’s planetarium, Mark Williams (Matthew). Mark is going through a mid-life crisis, feeling his strongest connection with the stars above, rather than to his job or marriage. But then he meets single mum Angela (Elizabeth), and he soon starts to have a little more faith in the universe.

The show will be on at the Wyndham’s Theatre for a strictly limited 13-week season between Thursday 16 May and Saturday 10 August.

Following its recent sell-out run at the National Theatre, and about to head out on an UK and international tour, War Horse will be performing at the new Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre for a limited 6-week run.
