Often in London, immersive theatre productions have to adapt their show to a venue. That’ll no longer the case as The Buzz – a brand new, adaptable, permanent immersive arts space – is set open later this year.
Described as a flat-pack eco-theatre, it’ll be a space for creatives to meet, explore and develop ideas, and stage productions. It’s based at the vibrant Mercato Metropolitano in Borough, which offers an array of artisanal cuisines for you to enjoy before or after the show. Cocktails can also be purchased at The Buzz.
And for its grand opening, a production of the brand new immersive show The Time Travellers’ Ball will be staged this November.
The Time Travellers’ Ball is an evening of dance, decadence and drama through the decades. It’s a time hopping love story dedicated to London which spans 30 years.
You’ll start as a flapper in the roaring 1920s before travelling into the fabulous 1950s to be a jive queen and ending in the 1970s for some disco grooving. As you venture through time, you’ll discover the story of young lovers Edward and Norma (assistants to one Charlie Chaplin). This 90-minute immersive experience invites audiences to be part of the party and learn the dances of the decades as cocktails flow and the love story flourishes. All are encouraged to dress glamorously in a decade of your choice.
