It’s the 31st of October and, for those of a nervous disposition… well, this isn’t really the day for you. Everybody else, rejoice: the first production photos of The Exorcist on stage are in!
Inspired by true events, William Peter Blatty’s iconic best-seller, and the unforgettable film, The Exorcist play looks like quite the unique (read: terrifying) theatrical experience. Heck, these first production photos alone are sure to send a chill down every hardy theatregoer’s spine; take a look, if you dare…
The Exorcist play centres on Regan, a young girl who develops numerous strange symptoms. When the medical profession fails to provide answers, her desperate mother Chris turns to a local priest for help. But before Father Damien can tackle what’s before him, he must overcome his own shaken beliefs, as this fight is for more than just one girl’s soul…
Multi-award winning actor Ian McKellen voices The Demon, while Jenny Seagrove plays Chris MacNeil, opposite Peter Bowles as Father Lankester Merrin and Adam Garcia as Father Damien Karras.
Currently booking until 10 March 2018, The Exorcist play is certainly not for everybody, with an 18+ age recommendation and the guarantee of jumps, scares and an enjoyably nervous night in the West End.
Our top tip: the seats of the Phoenix Theatre are tall enough to hide behind. Happy Halloween!
